Imagen de un avión cómun, ave parecida a las golondrinas, que está construyendo su nido bajo el alero de una casa. Se aprecia barro húmedo en la parte superior del tramo de nido que está levantando, y también, en su pico. Tiene construido el tercio inferior del nido. El ave aparece de perfil en la imagen, y el fondo de la misma es el color crema del alero y el ladrillo visto de la pared.

Pardillo común (Linaria o Carduelis cannabina) adulto oteando desde la rama de un árbol. Un juvenil observa espectante desde otra rama cercana.

Un ave de pequeño tamaño está posada en la rama de un árbol mientras observa al fotógrafo. El pájaro es de color crema en el pecho, con dos manchas de color rojizo a ambos lados del mismo. El pico es grueso y de color gris. la parte superior de la cabeza es gris-marrón claro, mientras que las alas son de un color marrón más intenso. En el fondo aparecen más ramas del árbol borrosas contr el azul del cielo.

En esta imagen aparece un ejemplar juvenil de pardillo común, en una rama cercana al anterior. En este caso las manchas rojizas del pecho no aparecen, aunque conserva el color y tonos en el resto del plumaje. El fondo de la imagen en oscuro y muy borroso.

Una pareja de verdecillos está posada sobre un pequeño matorral contra el cielo azul. Las aves son de color amarillo verdoso, con tonos oscuros en los laterales de la cara y parte superior de la cabeza. Las plumas de las alas son de color crema con manchas más oscuras. Ambos miran espectantes a la cámara.

Otro verdecillo posado en un matorral cercano a los anteriores mira a la cámara atento.

Un pájaro de pequeño tamaño se encuentra posado, de perfil, sobre un matorral (quejigo). El ave tiene el pico grueso y de color crema. El ojo es completamente negro. El plumaje del pecho es color crema con manchas oscuras alargadas. La cabeza y el dorso son de un tono más oscuro que el pecho. Las patitas del ave son rojizas.

A new one for me, I haven’t the likes before. If confirmed, a rare visitor apparently. Maybe very rare to these hedgerows.

It stopped on a branch, I stopped on my bike. We looked across at each other for a moment.

I’m going to cycle out there again today, see if I can get another sighting and hopefully a photo for confirmation.

For now, it’s the closest match I can find.

The dad of the house sparrow family nesting above my living room under the attic is always very attentive and watches me when I'm on the balcony. As soon as I'm inside he comes down for some food or water 😅

A very "grey" photo. Visible is the corner of a grey roof gutter at the edge of my roof. The male sparrow with his light grey chest and neck, black eyes and beak sits on the edge of it eyeing me. Barely visible is the brown at the back his his head and his back. The background is filled completely with the dark grey roof tiles of the neighbour house.

They say in the old Norse book of wisdom and cultural heritage, the Hávamál:

Wisdom is to enjoy and remember delicious food, good friends and a restful view. Knowledge is know how to get there and enjoy it.

This harmonies quite well with the Khmer view of food, friendship and enjoying a chat. And of course enjoy new sights and a break from everyday with a nice view while travelling. And bird viewing, come to that.

This backroad was consider a shortcut back when we were travelling there, bypassing the crossroads and queues in Sisophon in Western Cambodia. During the pandemic, a huge upgrade was done to the highway between Battambang and Sisiphon and National Road 5 and NR 6. It reduces the travelling time between Siem Reap and Battambang, and between the border city Poipet and Battambang.

The reason to take this backroad even with a new road, is the splendid landscape, the lesser amount of tourists and other travellers, and good food and drinks with a view to peaceful, yet lively, wetland area.

It is so nice to have choices when travelling.

This place is near the Kro Bao Village Peam Pagoda for those who want to see a typical village pagoda in the countryside outside Siem Reap.

Una collalba rubia posa sobre un matorral de espinos. El ave mira hacia la izquierda de la imagen y aparece en ella centrada, ocupando casi todo el espacio.

Tiene la cabeza, cuello y parte superior del pecho de color canela. Un antifaz negro le cubre la cara hasta la altura de los ojos. Las alas también son negras, al igual que el pico, que es fino. La parte baja del ave es de color claro y las patitas de color gris.

Ce weekend, les amoureux de la biodiversité étaient invités par la #lpo à effectuer un comptage des oiseaux des jardins. Ces actions collectives de recensement sont indispensables au suivi de la biodiversité et à notre prise de conscience écologique.

Malgré ma motivation, les vents violents qui se sont abattus sur l'ouest de la France ont découragé les oiseaux les plus téméraires.

Le climat se dérègle, les annonces de catastrophes s'enchainent, les oiseaux disparaissent ... Et tout le monde s'en fiche.

Die Wasseramsel ist stark an Gewässer gebunden und der einzige einheimische Singvogel, der tauchen und schwimmen kann.
