📖 I had already seen this animal the day before when I ambushed a treecreeper. Unfortunately, it took me 5 minutes to realise that this spot in the water was a muskrat and when I tried to take the shot, it took off. The next day I spotted it again not far from the previous spot. The bokeh isn't the best, but I'm happy about the encounter.
ℹ️ The muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus) grows up to 35 cm long and its tail can reach 22 cm. It feeds on plants that grow in the water or on the banks. The largest Arvicolinae is native to North America and arrived in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century.

📖 Am Tag zuvor habe ich das Tier bereits einmal gesehen, während ich einen Baumläufer auflauerte. Leider hab ich erst 5 Minuten später realisiert, dass es sich bei diesem Fleck im Wasser um eine Bisamratte handelt und als ich abdrücken wollte sit sie abgehauen. Am nächsten Tag hab ich sie dann unweit vom vorherigen Ort wieder entdeckt. Das Bokeh ist nicht das schönste, aber ich bin froh über diese Begegnung.
ℹ️ Die Bisamratte (Ondatra zibethicus) wird bis zu 35 cm lang und der Schwanz kann nochmal bis 22 cm lang werden. Sie ernährt sich von Pflanzen die im Wasser oder am Ufer wachsen. Ursprünglich stammt die größte Wühlmaus aus Nordamerika und ist Anfang des 20. Jahrhundert nach Europa gelangt.
