My phone very suddenly died 3 months ago. But my old one was still working and so far I'm using it, still waiting to find a good offer for a new phone. Well, now my banking app stopped working (too old), but I can't upgrade either (android too old) ... sucks.

I need a new phone ASAP, but I needed an even quicker solution to use this app.

Luckily, I already have a #FreeBSD server with #bhyve and some #guacamole installation using #jails. With that, I could install #BlissOS 🥳 (and even access it from my company's notebook)

Does #BlissOS work? The last time I was evaluating and comparing Android distributions, I could only get Android-x86 to work.

@gael There's mention of a few abandoned projects in the F-Droid forum... What about if you run it on a server using something like #KasmWorkspaces with #WayDroid, #BlissOS, #AnboxCloud, #Puter, etc.?

Mmh, can't find comprehensive info whether standard #qemu & virt-manager do suffice to run #Android in a box. Would rather have it in there with all the other machines than yet another app, most I find is always about some modified qemu version.

Anyone got experiences in this regard? Otherwise perhaps #BlissOS / Android x86 would be an idea. Really only need it for the in-app purchase of "Automate" given #microG seems to support fetching already supported items.

Could #Huawei's triple foldable display phone combined with software like Samsung Dex liberate the #smartphone from being consumption-oriented devices? :thinking_face:

#android ecosystem does not suffer from the constraints Apple imposes. (see #WayDroid or #blissos or #PostmarketOS for example)

Projecting in the future, we might even get briefcase size displays/machines that unfold into a full tabletop-style communal computing interface.

Wow, de-google-ing my Chromebook convertible Acer Spin was an adventure. But once l discovered BlissOS there was no return. I've had many small issues with my Chromebook, mostly with rotation and Android apps - and it's slow. The hybrid approach is not great. It's too heavy to hold comfortably. Going full Androidx86 was the best choice. It runs so much better now! #chromebook #blissos #mrchromebox #SuzyQ

Voilà, j’ai réussi à faire fonctionner #Epic7 dans #BlissOS sur #QemuKVM et avec accélération graphique ! ENFIN !

@marix ich benutze seit Jahren Enterprise Moselle von HP (Pro und Elite Reihe). In dem Sektor ist Reparierbarkeit den Kunden so wichtig dass sogar HP sich dazu durchringen lässt. Die kann man relativ schmerzlos auseinandernehmen. (Für spezifische Modelle natürlich immer erst auf iFixit gucken.) Allerdings laufen die standardmäßig mit Windows. Via #BlissOS oder Ähnlichem lasst sich aber Android installieren und läuft nach meiner Erfahrung erstaunlich gut!

I just installed #BlissOS (Android 12) on my Laptop. Its not perfect but it works. But the fact you can use Android on PC is quite funny when you know that AmongUS for Android is free, but not for PC :amogus:
