I watched a B movie tonight called Crabs. Was it good? No. Was it entertaining? Yes. Except for the dance scene. That was awful. #movies #BMovies #crabs

They’re close to the truth of the matter here, which is simply that chicks can’t resist a hep cat with an MG TD.

Movie poster for the film “Date Bait” with a hot-to-trot couple standing behind the rear of an MG TD. Quotes on the poster, “TOO YOUNG TO KNOW — TOO WILD TO CARE — TOO EAGER TO SAY “I WILL!” and “AT SIXTEEN … a girl learns about love … ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!”

Just venting. It involves the #InternetArchive but I am not blaming them at all, they are the greatest!

A few months ago I came across a treasure trove of VHS era movies on the Archive. Someone (it seemed) bought boxes and boxes of VHS tapes at garage sales or something and digitized them. Hundreds of them. Mostly #BMovies , #ExploitationMovies , Direct to video quickies and some made for TV #movies .

The files were listed alphabetically by a file name which was the entire title of the movie, year released with "VHSRip" appended on each one. Nothing in there ever made any money at the box office and generally don't exist anywhere else, except perhaps the depths of Tubi.

But now they are gone. Maybe the uploader took them down. Maybe IA removed them.

It bothers me a bit that this back alley of moviedom was removed when tons of Disney and other major studio and TV network material continue to rack up views.

VHSRipper, if you are out there somewhere and recognize yourself, let me know if you found another place to host your #VHSVault, I would love to continue working my way through it!

🎸 Groupie (2010) wants to be Fatal Attraction with guitars — but instead, it borrows real-life tragedy for cheap drama and fails to deliver any real insight. A horror of missed opportunities.

Idk why Michael Madsen didn't remain in Hollywood's good graces other than Quentin Tarantino, must have been difficult to work with, but dude was hard working, he sometimes would have more than a dozen different roles a year in obscure indie b flicks, SyFy originals, and foreign productions. He out-Eric Roberts Eric Roberts for a while, just accepting basically any role that was offered to him willing to pay whatever his price was.

I've been enjoying the Internet Archive's offerings again lately - two movies I've found and enjoyed:

Earth vs the Flying Saucers (1956)
Them! (1954)

while the second one is b/w, the first one has been beautifully colorized, nothing like the weird AI colorization where one moment a person looks alive, the next they look zombified, etc.

The Deadly Mantis (1957) is also fun (and will have you wondering how on earth a mantis could leave 3-toed footprints).
