Some flowers with a lot of warm bokeh balls in the background.

I love working with bokeh. The background plays the biggest role here. It is the small, fine leaf of the Jasminum nudiflorum (winter jasmine). This facade covering blooms in the Netherlands in the winter with small yellow flowers. Nice to combine with the evergreen Mahonia medea that also blooms yellow in the winter and gives large dark shiny leaves. A thin branch runs from the left, just above the bottom of the photo, diagonally, to the top (before the middle). In the background, a 2nd branch crosses the first one from the top left, diagonally, to the right side of the photo (just below the middle). The branch in the front is sharp with a white stripe of light along the entire length of the front. There are 2 leaves on it, opposite each other, sharp and very light green because the light shines through them. The leaves have a fine, white border because of the light. The branch in the background is vague with many more leaves, which also all have white (but broad and very vague) borders because of the sun. The background is black with a few transparent white and light green circles of bokeh under the branches.

This is the Tussilago farfara, In the Netherlands it is called "small coltsfoot". It looks like the dandelion, but is smaller and blooms earlier, in the Netherlands already from February on. The leaf develops after the flower at the end of the winter. After flowering the heads nod downwards. After a while they straighten up again and the spherical fluff ball unfolds. The out of focus lights were like a signal sent through the network, hoping to be decoded some day in the distant future.

Finally some colours are starting to come up everywhere. Went out with my 50mm f1.8 lens and tried to get some nice flowers with a bokeh into the frame.

Dont "Moss" with colors:
If you concentrate on the simple things, you get something like this. A small cushion of moss in a flower pot photographed in the right light and then the white balance adjusted just a little. And I emphasize: a little bit. The colors come from the background and together they make a very nice combination, I think.

Wenn man sich auf die simplen Sachen konzentriert, kommt so etwas heraus. Ein kleines Moospolster in einem Blumentopf im richtigen Licht fotografiert und anschliessend den Weissabgleich ein kleines Bisschen angepasst. Und ich betone: ein kleines Bisschen. Die Farben stammen vom Hintergrund und zusammen ergibt das ganze eine sehr schöne Kombination, wie ich finde.

Man sieht ein Moospolster in einem Blumentopf im Abendlicht fotografiert. Durch die Wahl einer grossen Blende entsteht eine künstlerische Unschärfe; Vorder- und Hintergrund scheinen ineinander zu fliessen. Das Licht im Hintergrund ist farbig: blau, rosa, weiss und das Moos im Vordergrund gelblich, orange, grün. So entsteht ein schöner Farbkontrast.

You can see a cushion of moss in a flower pot photographed in the evening light. The choice of a large aperture creates an artistic blur; the foreground and background seem to flow into each other. The light in the background is colored: blue, pink, white and the moss in the foreground is yellowish, orange, green. This creates a beautiful color contrast.
