Also in #30DaysOfBiking I read a really good book about Britain's National Cycle Network.
_Potholes and Pavements_ by Laura Laker is a travelogue about her journeys around Britain by bike, but she also meets the people who built the network. It’s a history of the NCN, a love letter to it, and a long list of complaints (that I think all users share). It’s also full of hope for the future, and I want to keep quoting bits of it at people.
New John Connolly novel (in the Charlie Parker Private Investigator series) coming very soon.
Slowly but surely building up a new reading habit…hoping to get more books finished over the next couple of months though.
April was a very quiet bookreading month, but this was an absolute standout for me, and easily my favourite book so far this year.
An urban fantasy set in post-WWII London, I just loved the writing style, and the sudden bounces between 'normal' London and barking mad off-its-trolley London.
Bonus, it was narrated by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, who has the Midas touch with pretty much any audiobook he wraps his vocal cords around. 🥺
