Love this simple, but amusing, bit street art. It's on the Queen Margaret Drive railings for the Botanic Gardens in Glaagow, and I think it's by A Sign of Humour.

A row of three ornate spikes on a set of Victorian railings. On the middle one a pair of eyes and a mouth have been added to turn it into a head.

Gradually the new decorations on the 1902 lamp base outside the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow are taking shape. I like the newly added gold details. I'll post more as more is added. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how the Glasgow Corporation Lighting Department name plate with its art nouveau font turns out.

The remains of one of the platforms of Kirklee Station hidden away amongst the trees in the Botanic Gardens in the West End of Glasgow. The station opened in 1896, and temporatily closed in 1917. It re-opened in 1919 and then closed permanently in 1939. The line closed in 1964 and the station buildings were demolished in 1971.

The sundial in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. Despite our prevailing climate, Scotland has a surprsingly long history of sundials going back to the 16th Century. This includes obelisk sundials, which are unique to Scotland.

🌎 This approach isn’t just for titan arum. It could help safeguard many other endangered plants held in botanic gardens worldwide. A global effort is needed to make ex situ conservation truly effective. (8/8)

"As Singapore’s first and only UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the world’s only tropical botanical garden on the list—the Gardens stands as a treasured symbol of our City in Nature.

We’re also celebrating 150 years of the Singapore Herbarium and the Library of Botany and Horticulture, along with 30 years of the National Orchid Garden—cornerstones of the Gardens’ research, education and conservation work."

Soothing and calming. There is such a soothing and calming quality to botanic gardens. This is the Mendocino Coast Botanic Gardens last year in July. We need the beauty and the calm more than ever today. #photography #BotanicGardens #Flowers #bloomscrolling
