Tolkien indeed took time to imagine Elvish plant classification. Not a scientific like one by von Linné but an everyday classification based on outside shape.
In Quenya "trees" fall into 3 categories alda, orne or tussa.

The Quenya word TUSSA is written in Tengwar according to the ára-tencele mode.

Many, perhaps even most, plants are wind pollenated - all grasses and conifers are. This lovely thing is the inflorescence of a UK native, Timothy grass,. It's stamens - the dark purplish things - -having had most of the pollen blown off.

When you're a botanist, sometimes people ask what is your favourite plant? (They mean species). I don't have a favourite species, but of the species Acacia paradoxa (hedge wattle), this is my favourite plant. It's uncharacteristically small and dense.

According to the OED "Wildflower" is not a word. The Cambridge dictionary has it as "any flower that grows without having been planted by people", the botaniical definition.The RHS say it's a "UK Native" plant, and that's what most people think. DIscuss! This Himalayan native got there of it's own accord, from a seed from garden somewhere. It's in a marsh nearby and is, IMHO, a wildflower. Giant Cowslip, Primula florindae.
