The Bridgewater Canal near Astley Green on a cold November afternoon.

It's the golden hour and the twigs and dead leaves in the hedgerows on the other side of the canal are rich shades of burnt orange, contrasting with the icy pales blues and pinks of the sky and its reflection in the canal. The towpath side of the canal is in the shade and is layered with a deep hoar frost.

One of those high contrast Summer afternoons with backlit grey and white clouds against an azure sky.
We're walking along a canal towpath with wide grassy banks and tall, dark green trees beside the towpaths on either side. Our towpath, on the left, is largely in shadow and disappears into the shadows of the horizon while the bank is brightly sunlit. The canal looks olive brown with blue highlights where the sun shines on it. (It's actually rusty red as the water feeding it comes from iron-rich coal workings.)
