New Yorkin reissun (2006) toinen matkapäivä jatkui eteläkärjestä kävellen kohti netistä kaivamaani osoitetta, jossa jonkun paikallisen heavy/metal -bändin piti soittaa illalla keikka.

Matkalla tuli vastaan mm. Wall St, Brooklyn Bridge ja Chinatownissa haukkasin jotain pientä syötävää.

Katunäkymä New Yorkin Chinatownissa. Kadun varressa on pysäköityjä autoja ja jalkakäytävällä kulkee joitain jalankulkijoita.Brooklyn Bridgen tunnistettava muoto näkyvissä kaukaisuudessa. Viimeiset auringon säteet värjää Brooklynin rakennuksia kullankeltaisella värillä.

Sillalle johtava kävelytie on täynnä ihmisiä ja autotie on täynnä autoja. Kuvan vasenta laitaa hallitsee suuri Verizonin rakennus.New Yorkin Wall St joulukoristeluissa.

The image depicts a black and white photograph of the skyline of New York City, specifically showcasing numerous tall buildings with classic architecture. The most prominent structure is the Empire State Building in the center background, featuring its iconic spire reaching into the sky. To its left stands another skyscraper with setbacks near the top floors to create small terraces or observation decks.

The photograph captures a cityscape viewed across what appears to be the East River, as evidenced by the boats and barge docked at piers on the waterfront in the foreground. The water reflects some of the urban scene but is mostly calm, suggesting clear weather conditions when this image was captured.

The skyline includes various other buildings with different architectural details such as setbacks, cornices, and a mix of rectangular windows arranged symmetrically or grouped together for aesthetic appeal. Some older structures have more classical features like columns, while others exhibit modernist designs from the early 20th century during which this photo might be taken.

The photograph is noted to come with additional information in "New York city views: Lower New York," dated April 4, 1932, and has been attributed to Samuel H. Gottsch at the Library of Congress collection.

The image depicts a black and white photograph of the Brooklyn Bridge spanning across the East River in New York City. In the foreground, we can see the bridge's structure with its distinctive suspension towers supporting cables that hold up the roadway above it. The Manhattan skyline is visible on the left side of the photo, showcasing iconic skyscrapers like the Empire State Building and One Chase Manhattan Plaza.

The Brooklyn Bridge itself appears in two segments: a closer view crossing over the East River, and another segment extending into the distance toward Downtown Brooklyn. In the background, we can see other bridges connected to Long Island City on the opposite shore of the river. The overall composition captures an industrial atmosphere with warehouses along the waterfront and signage for businesses such as "COFFEE" indicating commercial activity in this urban environment.

The photograph is labeled as a negative from Samuel H. Gottscho's collection, taken at Robert Gair Building on April 1st, 1932, providing historical context to its creation during that period of the Great Depression and early World War II era.

George Parker fälschte im 19. Jhd.

Brooklyn Bridges, as seen from the piers, 1996. Checking on Google Maps, I learned that not much has since changed in this view, apart from new developments on the Brooklyn side. Our tour group stayed in Manhattan the 4-5 days we were there.
