@paulkrugman.substack.com is wrong about this, the issue isn't generating capacity either. There are plenty of renewable energy projects, planned or already built, that are unable to access to transmission capacity.

Massive under-investment in The Grid what's wrong!

The US loves to chase new things but maintenance has never been their thing. Republicans have always under-invested in the grid to "save taxpayer money" / "lower taxes" or would ally themselves with populist anti-transmission line groups for political expediency.

Well, the chickens are coming home to roost now!

Besides that, his comparison to the Telecom "bubble" is false because it built out durable infrastructure that was eventually used, whereas the "#AI" bubble is building out end-points that will be obsolete in a matter of years. The "AI" (read LLM) bubble is MUCH more of a waste and long-term economic threat than the Telecom "bubble".

Me and the little finally got around to getting the ingredients to make the giant #bubble mix known as "Mike's Gooey Mix". Previously we've used guar gum, but we've felt that the bubbles could be bigger.

The new recipe, together with a new wand line I made from some cotton yarn did all the difference. Such amazing bubbles!

I just finished mixing together 10 litres, so now we have something to do the coming weekend.
