Wheatfield Soul is the fourth studio album by the Canadian rock band the Guess Who, released in March 1969. Their first RCA Records release, the album is also notable for being the first full-length Guess Who album to feature Burton Cummings exclusively on lead vocals, without original lead singer Chad Allan. Featuring the US top 10 hit "These Eyes", it marked the beginning of the band's international success.

Wheatfield Soul was not a commercial success. "These Eyes" was released as a single. Wheatfield Soul is the group's first psychedelic LP that also focuses on British-influenced pop and rock - Wikipedia

"Stand Tall" is the title of an international hit single by #BurtonCummings, taken from his eponymous debut album. The song was released less than two years after "Dancin' Fool", the final hit single by the group for which Cummings had been lead singer, #TheGuessWho. The recording was issued as the album's lead single in the fall of 1976, spending 21 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number 10. It reached number 5 on the US #CashBox Top 100.

BRENDA LEE
"SWEET NOTHIN'S"
Mastodon Post

Having asked friends for a favorite Brenda Lee song, one selected "All Alone Am I" along with "Sweet Nothin's." "Sweet Nothin's" has been covered by quite a variety of acts, from The Searchers (1963) to the Duke Robillard Band (2019), with the Pete Best Band(!), Burton Cummings, Wanda Jackson, and Diana Ross in between. I guess Brenda got their attention. Brenda did the best version of "Killing Me Softly" I have heard.

The Roberta Flack hit has annoying percussion and the Fugees hit has gotten lots of airplay and it has worn out its welcome. Judging from Amazon and Bandcamp searches, evidently Brenda's version is currently not available for purchase. I heard Brenda Lee at the Bangor Fair in Maine and I'll never forget it. It was outdoors in bright sun and she related one of her songs to what rock 'n' roll was like in the 1960s. She is one of the few early 60s stars still with us.

"No Time" is a song by Canadian #rock band #TheGuessWho, composed by guitarist #RandyBachman and lead singer #BurtonCummings. There are two versions of the song. The original recording was done for The Guess Who's album #CannedWheat. But it is the re-recording (as featured on the #AmericanWoman album) that was released as a single in 1969 and is the better-known. It is slightly faster in tempo and has the two verses transposed.
