I've been on a bit of a sorting spree, so I got my backup stash into 3 large bins, and the use-soon part of my stash fills a Kallax shelf set. I have very little recollection of buying all of this fabric. I think it reproduces on its own. I definitely need to stick with a #BuyNothing plan for at least a few months.

We are spending little on the holidays. I feel with the republicans about to crash the economy by collapsing health care, it's just not smart to waste money on things people don't really need.

We're focusing on simple celebrations with friends & family, not "stuff."

I hope you all observed Buy Nothing Day, lol.

According to the expected spending figures, millennials are looking to splash about 13% less cash than they did during last year’s holiday period, while Gen Z said in late summer that they were expecting their seasonal spending to drop by more than one-third. According to a separate part of Deloitte’s report, 62% of America’s Zoomers are anxious about higher prices this festive period.

Obviously, all of this is potentially concerning for America’s retailers.

It's been brought to my attention that while #BuyNothing groups are pretty useful, they tend to exist mainly on Facebook. It'd be nice to have such a group for #WaterlooRegion here on the fedi as well.

I'd be happy to set one up, but if there's one that already exists, I'd rather use that than start from scratch. Is anyone aware of such a group here?
