A buzzard perches on a metal pole, scanning the area for prey.

A buzzard perching in the scrub-wood beside the cycle path by the Water of Leith.

There were lots of people watching it - one of them said it had been around for a week or so, and that they thought it was probably going for an easy meal from others' fledglings.

I've noticed buzzards flying over Leith before, but never seen one perched there!

A colour photograph of rather low quality of a buzzard patched on a horizontal bough of a tree. The lighting is from behind, so the bird is largely shadowed.

The buzzard is sitting upright on the branch. Its booked break is clearly visible. Most of its plumage is light to dark brown, with a collar of white feathers across its chest.

Just before I ran out of time and had to head for the car I spotted a buzzard, it was flying a little erratically. Then I spotted the little Kestrel above it swooping down on it.

Me and my dog did a 4 hour walk this morning (with breaks), mostly through woodland and fields.

I heard a #cuckoo, which is not common around here. A more common sight, I saw a #crow chase off a #buzzard. The buzzard tried to stand its ground (so to speak 😁) but then a second crow joined in, and the buzzard gave up a flew away in the distance.

I love watching buzzards circle on sunny days, when they bank towards the sun the grey patterns under their wings light up, it's beautiful to watch.

A green field bordered by trees. There's a blue sky with a couple of clouds above, and a path going alongside the field and into the woods.
