Is it just me, or is verifying that you're human many times per day on #cloudflare, becoming annoying as a root canal?
I hadn’t noticed until I came across this piece - there really are far fewer CAPTCHAs around these days! Maybe AI’s just too good at cracking them, and there’s no real alternative. Funny how most of us didn’t even notice.

@CmdrTaco I constantly get blocked by #Ticketmaster and #AXS because of my HE v6 address. Open a ticket and say “Hey, I’m clearly a real person, I don’t resell tickets. Can you at least permit list my static IPv6 block?” Answer: We don’t support IPv6. These companies sadly don’t know what they’re doing and #Captchas are making it worse and less transparent while not stopping a single scalper. #facepalm

Having chatted with @adisonverlice for quite some time I can really see a lot of #pain and #frustration when it comes to #accessibility of @torproject / #Tor as well as @guardianproject / #Orbot.
This seems like something #TorProject and #GuardianProject need to really work on, cuz #privacy should not be limited to people being able-bodied...
Literally everyone I know — whether techie or not — hates #captchas.
Why is it, then, that a non-profit such as the org behind @Codeberg offer a more user-friendly #UX of, and attitude towards, captchas on their sign-up page than the usual gang of ginormous Big Tech corporations? Considering the huge difference in resources, it just doesn't make sense.
Come to think of it, let’s consider this yet another Very Good Reason™ to support solid #Fediverse offerings where possible. 👍
