Does anybody know a portable CB radio that is somehow usable by a blind person? Preferably that works legally in europe. #a11y #cbradio #blind

There is a hot battle between Canada and the US on CB channel 38 right now. They are determined to win.

I think an AM CB radio is one of the most robust options for large-scale and/or long-term emergencies

Silly question for the CB radio enthusiasts around here… I'm in contact with a radio newcomer (and possible future amateur operator) who is taking his first steps with radio, but the SMA socket on the radio had a little accident. The set is a Oricom DTX600 hand-held.

I did a search but internal photos that can identify the connector model are elusive. Anyone taken one of these apart and maybe can share some clear photos of the antenna socket so we can identify a replacement? #AmateurRadio #CBRadio

The antenna socket on the radio in question. The outer brass thread has separated from the body of the connector.

A handy little site if you need a bespoke ¼λ ground plane antenna. Stumbled on this whilst trying to find a design for a simple 477MHz antenna for UHF CB use. The calculator lets you adjust for whatever frequency you need.
