I spent last week interviewing folks for a disaster recovery manager job. Most of our candidates were from #USAID.
Hearing about the impactful work they did up until July of this year made our challenges seem miniscule. Stabilizing Tanzania during an ebola outbreak, delivery aid to the Marshall Islands during a drought, surveying Afghanistan during a war (that we caused), helping Sri Lanka overcome major upheavals that began before #covid.
It was very surreal but also heartbreaking to hear about these things that were just swept to the wayside through the rot policy of the regime. I wish we could hire them all.

Pharmacies facing angry patients over Covid jab confusion

"Pharmacists in England say they are facing 'major issues' with large numbers of patients booking appointments for #Covid jabs only to find they are no longer eligible.
"The criteria have been tightened this year so that only those aged 75 and older are being offered free boosters, along with younger patients who have a weakened immune system.
"Between a third and a half of people who turn up for their appointment are having to be turned away at many sites, according to Community Pharmacy England (CPE), which represents more than 10,000 chemists including many major chains."

Ich hab mal eine blöde Frage an die Deutschen hier:
Ich habe mich seinerzeit 2020 gegen #Corona impfen lassen. Danach habe ich keine Booster o. Ä. in Anspruch genommen, bis heute.
Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass der Schutz jetzt mittlerweile gen null geht - sowohl weil das schon so lang her ist, als auch weil es ja mittlerweile unfassbar viele neue Varianten und Entwicklungen seitdem gegeben hat.
Was müsste ich denn jetzt machen? Impfzentren gibt's ja nicht mehr an jeder Ecke. Macht das der Hausarzt? Nach was sollte ich fragen - ein Booster oder eine Neuimpfung? Was ist da der aktuelle Stand?
Ich würde ja direkt meinen Hausarzt fragen, aber bei dem sind die normalen Termine (also nicht Notfallsprechstunden) immer so weit in der Zukunft.
