I've had this 520STm 4MB color setup for some years now, but recently expanded it, as I had long been wanting to.

I've just added an SM124 (very sharp) monochrome 72Hz 640x400 display (switching between it and the SC1224 RGB display with a MonitorMaster switchbox that I acquired new about 10 years ago for this eventual purpose). I also have just added an ACSI2STM SD card-based HD emulator.

The stand is an A520 STation, which is a fairly rare item (I've never seen another in use).

The Apple Display Connector (ADC) is a display and data connector developed by #AppleInc as a proprietary modification of the #DVI connector. ADC combines analog and digital video signals, #USB, and power all in one #cable. It was used in later versions of the #AppleStudioDisplay, including the final 17" #CRT model, and most versions of the widescreen #AppleCinemaDisplay, after which Apple adopted standard DVI connectors on later models.

I would love to get CRT Emudriver on my computer, but it looks kinda complicated to work with. I'd love to use it to work on pixel art!

UK inland canals are generally shallowest at the bank, deepest in the middle.

The deepest part may not be as deep as you'd expect. Typically, people can stand up in a canal. When boats sink, they end up sitting on the bottom.

The sunk boat in this photo has a keel—like a backbone rather than a flat bottom like a narrowboat—so once it touches the bottom of the canal, the boat rolls and settles at an angle.

A sunken pleasure boat, missing windows, full of water, sits at an awkward angle on the bottom of a watery canal. While one gunnel is just under water, perhaps a third to half the boat is above the water level.

The boat has a faded red roof, and the foredeck might be a faded blue.

The boat, though sunken, is tied along the canal's off side (not the towpath side), where there is plenty of green scrub, bushes, and trees.

The canal bank is hardened with a steel rail. The water is a pale grey-green.

The character animation is the stand-out here, it's phenomenal. I also really like the FM synth adaptations of the film's music numbers. Gameplay isn't great, though, much better platformers on the system.

Aladdin admires some colorful statuettes in the Sultan's palace, unaware that such opulence requires an exploited labor class.

Aladdin peruses a merchant's wares. Unfortunately he doesn't possess the capital for extra lives or wishes.

The evil wizard Jafar, who has transformed into a giant cobra after successfully executing a military coup and establishing minoritarian rule, absolutely roasts Aladdin with magic fire.

Today I saw a lock chamber where, some time in the past, the original, massive stone blocks had been replaced with concrete.

Some of the old stone is still there, worn but doing the job. The newer concrete is crumbling.

The original, late-1700s canal engineers would have known about concrete, but they chose stone. It's been durable.
