Just finished building my #CW practice kit. Also nicely turns into my #POTA / #SOTA travel kit for CW. I designed the cases for the BaMaTech - BaMaKeY TP-III and the HAMCUBE Mini so that they provide more ergonomics and comfort while in use.

Finally updated the firmware of my PeakTech multimeter to the latest #cw release. It's still beta and supports paddles only at the moment connected to the COM port. Band and mode buttons work. Calling #cq now on 50 Hz.

Any #hamradio folks out there who can share a beginner's source on how electronic keyers work? State machine diagrams, algorithm explanations, etc? I want to implement a basic iambic keyer in code for a project, but existing keyer libraries are a bit hard to follow, since they support so many different use cases.

I’m thinking about a new year’s CW challenge for myself. Maybe 100 #POTA contacts a month? Or, honestly, the real challenge would be any number of “just calling CW” contacts. I can crank out the POTA QSOs all day but just calling CQ for the hell of it seems impossible. Anyone else doing a #cwmorse challenge?

Had a great #POTA at Stump Pass State Park K-1920 in Florida today! 37 CW in the log and a beautiful hike in and out at sunset. 5W with an #Icom705 and #BuddiStickPro. This was probably my favorite activation to date although it could be because I left Minnesota at -15 degrees to come here.

I feel like I’ve just gotten over some sort of #CWMorse hump where before 10-15 contacts would melt my brain and now I feel like I can do it all day. I’ll be back tomorrow for another round on the beach!

Bought a N0SA key from CWMorse. Unfortunately it was faulty. My replacement key arrived today. A big shout out to @cwmorse for fabulous service. The replacement is fantastic. I've been practicing hard with Morse Runner on the Field Day setting the last few days and I want to brag that I just did a 15 minute session at 23wpm with 26 contacts, no mistakes for 108 qso/hr. I doubt I could do that in the real world but since I've never run a frequency at any Field Day I feel like I might be ready to give it a go. Has anyone else noticed that going from 22wpm to 23wpm somehow makes a world of difference?
