He cambiado #Proton Glorious Eggroll por el Proton de #CachyOS. En primer lugar probé este último, pero no era capaz de hacer funcionar el juego. Tras investigar un poco vi que era culpa mía y he aplicado los mismos pasos que hice con #ProtonGE y ha funcionado. Prefiero usar el Proton de CachyOS porque parece que le está dando más prioridad al soporte de #Wayland.

@CachyOS That is good and I'm happy for you as a developer who is behind #cachyos.

I personally also like #cachyos, but to be able to use it permanently, the package manager #octopi should also be replaced by Pacman or Pamac (not as Aur) or even with Bauh Plus own (further) development by this package manager, where it is also a notification and the Portmaster under #cachyos Errors are registered more in the execution.

Otherwise, not only specified DNS servers should be possible for use, but also user-defined DNS servers and that this setting should not simply be switched to the DNS servers from Cloudflare without doing anything, which I do not like either.

And these log files in the initial installation, which are also unnecessary if it should still be available.

Will there be a kind of immutable version of #cachyos in the future, where there is no pre -installed software or at least to the minimum and most important to install programs yourself?

Because I am also looking for a good, better, stabilizing and also a safe alternative to #manjaro #linux and #cachyos has the potential for it, which is already better than #manjaro #linux now and I already like.

Hello from #CachyOS!

I’m running #CachyOS (based on Arch) on my Asus ROG #Zephyrus G14 5080. CachyOS is on the latest Linux kernel which always has the best compatibility for new hardware. Almost everything works as is: WiFi is fast, Bluetooth, dGPU, etc. I’ve been playing many hours on #ClairObscur with great performance and no crashes.

The biggest issue volume up/down buttons are not working and seem to change the bass/treble balance instead. You can still change the volume with CLI commands. (This is being worked on).

A minor issue is that the dGPU/iGPU switching with asusctl sometimes fails to switch the GPU unless you reboot.

Anyway I’m really happy with it. Got so tired of #Windows trying to use my personal data and taking hours to install and update tons of crap that I don’t want or need. CachyOS has a graphical installer and takes about 15-20 minutes depending on internet speed.

I usually use the TKG kernel when compiling a custom kernel. Some of the benefits includes support for config fragments as well as kernel patch files.

There’s a few changes I make to my config that I store in a fragment file. I also use a patch to allow hibernation to work under lockdown mode.

Been trying out the CachyOS kernel from the AUR for a few weeks now. Quite happy with it since I updated the PKGBUILD to also allow config fragments and kernel patch files 😎

I'm trying the Asus ZenBook S 14. I immediately installed #CachyOS on it. The 2.8k OLED is gorgeous, the speakers are great for this form factor. The keyboard is a bit mushy but usable.

I installed #rust and my @bevy game compiles and runs on the device. Will try gaming next!

Been trying out #CachyOS since Friday and I think I may have a new distro. I've been #linux only over a year and have avoided Arch as not n00b-friendly, but CachyOS really does what they do well. I understand the buzz.

Vaya, ayer instalé #CachyOS por segunda y definitiva vez y uso su buscador y no me parece nada mal.
Ahora a cambiarlo por otro que vaya más o menos rápido y que no consuma mucho ( batería de portátil )

I switched my PC from Windows 11 to #CachyOS (based on Arch). It’s been smooth sailing so far. I recommend it if you are technical, want to get away from Microsoft, but still play the latest games.

Benchmarks say DX12 game performance lags 15-20% compared to Windows, but that’s good enough for me!
