Made some progress on the camper today. Asenzi helped me swap in the new shocks, and we took a quick test drive to test those out (huge improvement over the old ones).

We started to work on the rear axle refresh, but I forgot to order a set of gaskets we need. So for now we drained the old fluid, and I've got the gaskets and front/rear brake rotors and pads on the way. I also found a heavily discounted differential cover, so I picked that up too (having a drain plug will be nice).

Once the rear axle is finished, we'll do the front end and then start gutting the interior to add insulation. I'll also run a bit of wiring (hookups for the cameras and a dual USB-C charging setup in the dash).

I cannot get over how easy it is to work on a truck with the bed removed!

I posted a big thread about the camper build my partner and I are working on a few days ago (https://furry.engineer/@notthatdelta/114665245491909599).

And today I finally moved past the planning phase and on to production! First step was to get the service body off the truck we're going to use as our base. I originally thought I only had six bolts to worry about. After using a can of PB blaster, half a tank of MAP gas, various breaker bars, and an angle grinder, I got all 22 bolts off.

Trucks without beds always look so silly to me. Like "here's my suspension and a fuel tank, that's all you get".

I have Thursday off, so I'm going to service the rear axle. I want to do the axle shaft seals, differential gasket and fluid, and shocks. I'm also going to pressure wash the frame and start taking some measurements so I can match up the camper base to the frame mounting locations!
