Crossing in Silence

Second attempt to #cinematic mode. This time I took a scan of a #35mmFilm #photography taken with a #CanonEOS300v and a #CanonEF40mm lens. I'm enough happy with the final result, as grainy old movie style.

A young person in dark clothing crosses a quiet city street beneath a pale, overcast sky. To the left, a brick building marked "BBC Radio Sheffield" stands beside a street sign and a tall clock. Straight ahead, a faded beige building is covered in graffiti, with bare trees and empty benches nearby. Traffic lights show green, but only a few people are visible—two figures walking away on the right pavement, and a few distant cars. The scene feels still and contemplative, with muted colors and cinematic black bars above and below, adding a sense of framing and introspective distance.

I've recently been to a film photography workshop and I really enjoyed it.
I will definitely delve more into it, it's worth the effort and I have to think more about the shot
This image captures a serene outdoor scene in a park. Four individuals are present, engaged in what seems to be a casual photoshoot. On the left, a man stands near a blooming tree, its branches adorned with white flowers. He is dressed in a light jacket and dark pants, smiling gently. In the center, a camera is mounted on a tripod, aimed towards the group. A woman in a long coat stands beside the camera, observing the scene. Behind the camera, two more individuals, one holding a phone and the other standing casually, complete the group. The park is lush with green grass and trees, and the path they stand on is paved and clean.

Another experiment done this morning with Images and #python. I took this #Film #Picture in #KelhamIsland #Sheffield and It ended up being too dark, So I converted to #monochrome using the Luminance formula equalised it, de-noised it a bit and added a white border. I then took a completely grey picture removed the green and blu channels and did a weighted merge. This combined with the monochrome has given a sepia tone to the image and now it looks "old". All in roughly 20 lines of code.

This sepia-toned image captures a quiet street scene with a vintage industrial building at its center. The structure, labeled "Alfred Beckett & Sons, Matchless Park, Steel, Saw & File Works, Ltd.," features a triangular facade with three arched windows. Two people walk along a pathway beside a white railing, near a classic streetlamp and a 20 mph speed limit sign. Surrounding the scene are brick buildings, adding to the old-world charm. The atmosphere feels nostalgic, evoking a sense of early 20th-century urban life, with muted colors enhancing the historical ambiance of this industrial area.

Another experiment with #Python and some #Film #Pictures I had the scans. I took a wrong picture that turned out completely grey. So I removed the blue and green channels, merged with another one and the effect is what you see. #FilmPhotography #Sheffield #KelhamIsland #CanonEOS300v #KodakUltramax400 #40mm
This image showcases an old red-brick industrial building with large, grid-like windows, some reflecting light. The faded sign on the facade reads "BEDFORDS," hinting at a former factory or warehouse. A leafless tree with intricate branches stands tall in the foreground, partially obscuring the structure. To the right, tangled trees and shrubs grow along the banks of a shallow, gently flowing river. The scene is bathed in warm, reddish tones, possibly due to film processing or a color overlay. The abandoned yet picturesque setting captures a mix of urban decay and natural reclamation, evoking nostalgia and quiet contemplation.
