The #Netherlands were once almost as #CarCentric as the #USA [ @notjustbikes can propably vouch for that looking into the History, digging up 1960s & 1970s Amsterdam as example.] but they chose to do something about it with the fact that as a #German I can vouch for the fact that the Netherlands have excellent roads and far less traffic due to viable alternatives.
Something my fieldwork with carob street trees taught me is to notice where damaged and missing street trees were near. More often than not, they're near businesses who only think of drivers as being their customers (who are going too fast to see signs well, therefore business owners want the block to be NOTHING BUT business signs), or places where drivers want to enter/exit/park.
