Woah, this is a new-to-me concept. I like it. Spotted in @attoparsec’s video about walking around SF Bay.

We replaced our second car with a cargo bike about 4 years ago. It was one of the best decisions we've made. Now we make almost all our travels by bike. In case cycling isn't viable, we can (and do) take transit. When we've got no other choice, we can fall back onto our car as our last resort. A lot of people I know live car-free, and that's one of my goals.

Last year, the only time I had to drive was when taking my daughter to her Japanese school twice a week. She would demand that I drive her instead of biking her. She now prefers cycling. Thank goodness! 😅

Die Thaliastraße im Wiener Stadtteil Ottakring
(ich weiß immer noch nicht, wo da die Silben zu trennen sind)

Die recht enge Straße führt Straßenbahnen Mischverkehr zwischen breiten Fußwegen. Die vielen Straßenbeete und -bäume sind nicht nur auf den Fußwegen der Straße. Viel mehr wurden die Fußwege zu Plätzen in manche der einmündenden Straßen ausgedehnt. Dort bilden sie teilweise Plätze und Sackgassen, teils Shared Spaces oder gar komplett autofreie (?) Segmente. Straßenmöbel mit Tischen, Sesseln und Bänken laden zum verweilen ein.

Falls die Thaliastraße mal ein Fest schmeißt, wäre ich gerne dabei. Ich wäre überhaupt gerne wieder und dann mit mehr Zeit zum Schlendern in rot
Wien.
