A magnificent, imposing view of Duckett's Grove, a Gothic Revival mansion in County Carlow, Ireland, stands under a bright, cloudy sky. The main focus is the elaborate central tower, constructed from light-coloured stone, with intricate detailing, arched windows, and a crenellated top. To the left and right, the substantial remains of the mansion's walls, with their distinctive pointed arches and decorative stonework, convey a sense of its former grandeur despite their ruinous state. Looking through recent photos. I took this photo in Borris, Co. #Carlow a few weeks ago. The green set into the stone wall caught my eye, then I realised it must predate Irish independence and, more precisely, pre 1901. Can you see why? #Ireland #Mastodaoine

A small green cast iron post box is set in a stone wall. A glass window reveals the notice from An Post about the service and collection time in English and Irish. Above that, a slot for envelopes is sheltered by a flap with raised letters that say “post office”. Above that are a raised relief of a crown with the letters “V” and “R” on either side. Some moss grows on a few of the stones that are of different sizes but fit snugly together.

Smashing day and fantastic turnout for such a small town. Local businesses and An Garda Síochána playing a vital Role. Proud to say that my own party, the #SocialDemocrats Ireland were the only political party with proper representation in the parade.

Today’s holiday at home adventure took me to St Mullin’s (#StMullins) here in Co #Carlow. This is a favourite place for me. Met a new friend who informed me after I took this video that dandelion leaves could be brought to him. He is very sweet and I recommend stopping and saying hi when you are near by. He lives down river from the Cafe. You can’t miss him. #Mastodaoine #Ireland

Went to an old favourite today #AltamontGardens in County #Carlow. I’ve been coming here for “mental health walks” since lockdown days.

A balustrade and a low rock wall separate a covered sitting area from a pond. The sitting area is covered by a thicket of wisteria. The pond is full of water lilies. Dense green trees of varied kinds and textures border the quiet scene.
