Are there any #CarnivorousPlant fans here? I have a question...
My drosera has another infestation of tiny white aphids, again. Last year, I had to submerge it in water for a week, which seemed to do the trick.
But where are they coming from? None of my other plants, carnivorous or otherwise, have them... And they seem to come from nowhere - it wasn't like this 2x days ago...
The next #LosAngeles #CarnivorousPlant Society meeting will be the 16th of August #WoodlandHills, #California. Many #plants will be available for sale and trade, including #aquatics like #Aldrovanda vesiculosa.

In the local wetlands quite a few species of carnivorous plants are thriving. These are all Bladderworts (Utricularia species). The plants grow in or close to water, the flowers rise above. They trap aquatic animals in bladders under water.
Wikipedia has a detailed article about how they do it.
These are Horned, Common, North-eastern, and Intermediate Bladderworts. Always happy to find a new one.
