Alright, I'm fully back into a Hunger Games obsession. These books are SO good. I read the original trilogy back in high school, but I don't think I appreciated them as much as I should have.

I wasn't expecting the sequel to be just as good as the first book, but it absolutely was and I can't wait to dive into Mockingjay. Catching Fire felt like it grew with the audience and it was more heartbreaking and brutal than the last. And don't get me wrong, I adore Katniss, but she really feels like she's the last one to figure things out sometimes 😂

The Hunger Games is my very first copy from high school, I found Catching Fire at Goodwill, Mockingjay and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes I bought on PangoBooks, and Sunrise on the Reaping I got new from B&N.

It takes forward the story of Katniss, played by Jennifer Lawrence, who must fight other oppressed proles to the death as part of a tyrannical government's strategy of rule through fear.

"The dystopia, called Panem, is built on the ashes of the US, and Sutherland wants young audiences to respond to the allegory. 'Hopefully they will see this film and the next film and the next film and then maybe organise. Stand up.'"
