We were at NWT Cley Marshes several weeks ago. We went looking for Spoonbills as we hadn’t seen them clearly before and they’d been seen up there.

We were surprised by a congregation of Cattle Egret, we settled into one of the hides and overheard the group already in the hide declare there were 35 total.

Meine liebsten Lebensformen und Lebensunformen,
gestern hab ich keine Fotos gemacht, hab einfach Wind, Sonne und mehr genossen. Heute wollte ich eigentlich Fotos vom Wiedehopf machen, es hat sich aber keiner gezeigt, so bin ich dann nochmal zu den Kuhreihern. Und da hat es mir besonders dieser Teenager angetan.
Er ist immer auf den Bürgersteig, wenn keiner gekommen ist und hat ein wenig dusselig geschaut und ist dann immer wieder schnell zurück auf die Wiese.

Tiere sind Freunde und kein Essen oder eine Plage.
Bleibt gesund, glücklich und verliebt. 
Der schlimmste Seelenschmerz ist das Fernweh.

My favourite life forms and life non-forms,
I didn't take any photos yesterday, just enjoyed the wind, sun and more. Today I actually wanted to take photos of the hoopoe, but none showed up, so I went back to the cattle egrets. And I was particularly taken with this teenager.
He always came out onto the pavement when no one was around, looked a bit silly and then quickly returned to the meadow.

Animals are friends, not food or a nuisance.
Stay healthy, happy and in love. 
The most terrible pain in the soul is wanderlust.

Weißer Vogel, Kuhreiher, juvenil, steht auf Bürgersteig, Hintergrund Wiese

Hallo meine lieben fliegenden und nichtfliegenden Lebensformen,
ich freu mich ja, wenn ich an Orte zurück komme und die Vögel vom letzten Jahr sind auch noch da / auch wieder da.

Über diese Kuhreiher an der Strandpromenade vom Morro Jable hab ich mich schon letztes Jahr gefreut. Sie fangen auch heuer wieder Fliegen auf dem Rasen.

Und schon letztes Jahr hab ich mich über die Eltys geärgert, die ihre Kinder die Reihern jagen lassen. Wenn dann einer mal zurück pickert, sind die Tiere schuld, wie immer.

Tiere sind Freunde und kein Essen oder eine Plage.
Bleibt gesund, glücklich und verliebt.

Hello my dear flying and non-flying life forms,
I'm happy when I come back to places and the birds from last year are still there / back again.

I was delighted to see these cattle egrets on the beach promenade in Morro Jable last year. They are catching flies on the grass again this year.

And last year I was already annoyed by the parents who let their children chase the herons. If one of them pecks back, it's the animals' fault, as always.

Visited #WWTWelney today, where I saw about 30 #CattleEgrets alongside the cows while drinking my tea in the cafe. Then saw a #GreatWhiteEgret in the reeds from the main hide. Finally, walking around Lady Fen I saw a couple more #GreatWhiteEgrets mixed in with the #CattleEgret - clearly distinguishable by the huge size difference (pictured). Don’t be taken in just because they’re near cows!
Also, they are #NotADuck
