I love @mtaibbi but his work with the #TwitterFiles has always been a bit confusing. Paywalls, tweet threads and just muddled reporting perhaps. This article by @mmasnick breaks down why the idea of a #CensorshipIndustrialComplex is extremely overblown. I'd still love to have the two of them discuss this at length sometime.

They don't think real alternatives have a chance so they want to meet the people "where they're at" for better or worse.

#CensorshipIndustrialComplex is a great term for it.
