As part of my metalwork presentation at #ChicagoTARDIS, I wanted to make something special that could not only help me demonstrate different metals and patinas, but also be something I could give away as prizes for participation.
I modeled this Seventh Doctor TARDIS key in Blender, and cast several copies in both pewter and Zamak. One of the Zamak ones then got plated in brass. I don't know how well I ended up utilizing these as educational materials, but I did give them away at the end of the panel and saw one person wearing theirs the next day. So hopefully people enjoyed them.

I spent the weekend at #ChicagoTARDIS where there were a ton of amazing costumes being worn and displayed. I definitely missed getting photos of a lot of them, but here are a few.

This has become a fascinating conversation about #DoctorWho as a vehicle for documenting important societal issues over the course of the show.

I love seeing these folks "play" with each other (as they started), but this lovely, thoughtful conversation has evolved beautifully. Sylv is proving he can do a serious, meaningful panel with aplomb (not an actual surprise, but v still nice to see).
