It's been a while... I took a two week vacation from painting (U.S. thanksgiving plus husband taking time off from work).
I have many more layers of colour to add to the rooster photographer but I like what I accomplished in session 9. I'm about 11 hours into this piece.

The Flock on Vacation - third session. I've finally started colouring.
After a second coat of green and letting it sit to thoroughly dry, I started on the background. It's a foggy but bright day and I'm going to need a lot of Titanium white. I used the last of my white to mix the lightest colour of the fog. That layer will need to dry then I'll add a second before moving on to the most distant line of trees.
I have also ordered more Titanium white.

My digital redraw of Brenda took 1 hour 12 minutes. I draw a lot of surreal chicken people but sometimes it's nice to go back to the basics and draw or paint an actual chicken.
The Bridal Party - 3 hours 4 minutes
Ferry Photo - session 2 - roughly 3 hours work. I have outlined the main shapes with black acrylic. One it's thoroughly dry I will put a thin layer of priming in a dark blue or green. The piece will be a rather bright piece, lots of whites and light grays so a dark under coat will help the colours pop.

Red and White - 1 hour 41 minutes to do a digital version of a 2024 watercolour sketch.
Art 365/310: Side Eye?
Coffee and Contemplation: I've worked an hour and 31 minutes now.

This is Brenda. I've drawn and painted her before but this is my first time doing a digital portrait of her. She is/was? one of Ursula Vernon/T. Kingfisher's chickens. As the photo reference is at least 5 years old, I'm not sure if Brenda is still with us.
Anyway, I'm about 45 minutes into this piece.

Humboldt Street / Belmont Building (because I never did come up with a better name) is done. Well, the fun bit is done. I still have to paint the edges of the panel, let it cure and then varnish the darn thing.
Right now I am at 29 hours of work (21 hours of painting)
What do you think? If you know the area, did I do it justice?

I have a new surreal piece — the bridal party. I'm working from a digital collage from some vintage photographs I own. To get the intricate detailing of the dresses, I am tracing. Once the outline is done I'll switch to hand drawing / colouring.
Humboldt Street - 28 hours of work (20 hours of painting). I am now at the step where I look at each square inch to look for areas where some panel might be showing through. Then I'll touch up some last details and sign my name.

Neon Blue - 5 hours 9 minutes of work. I really like how the purple quadrant is turning out.

I finished drawing the mirrored column and now I am working on the second level of the lobby.
