I still remember visiting Gendarmenmarkt that peaceful May morning in 2022. The way the golden light touched the French Cathedral felt magical, and I couldn’t resist capturing it with my Sony Alpha. It’s amazing to think how much has changed since then, with the square undergoing reconstruction. I hope it finally reopens this year so we can all experience its beauty again. Moments like these remind me why I love exploring and photographing places like this.

Walking through Subotica, a beautiful city in the north of Serbia, which is full of old architectural buildings, churches, cathedrals, monuments and various other sacred buildings and cultural sights, I came to the very center of this lovely city. I stop right in front of the magnificent National Theater building and take a shot. The National Theater in Subotica is the oldest theater building in Serbia build in 1854. It is located in the central part of tzar Jovan Nenad Square, which is certainly a very interesting place both for tourists and for young architects and urban planners, due to its characteristics. The National Theater is a cultural asset and one of the main sights of Subotica as well and you should see it if you ever visit this beautiful town in the north of Serbia. This imposing building in the style of classicism with its six Corinthian pillars stands in the place where the three main city squares intersect. In the time before the existence of today's City Hall and many other famous buildings, the theater was dominant in the center of Subotica, a symbol of its great ambitions. It has been adapted several times over the centuries. Besides significant changes in the very structure of the building, the facade of the street parts acquired a decorative character, with emphasized elements of eclecticism and secession.
