Gestern erzählte ich zwei Leuten von #CiviCRM und wie das bspw. von Politikern genutzt werden kann. Der erste, ein Kaufmann, wußte sofort, was CRM ist. Die Idee, dass ähnlich wie ein Hausarzt seine Patienten ein Politiker seine Constituents und deren Nöte verwalten müsse, war für ihn neu. Der zweite, russischstämmig, hat sich erschrocken. Politiker hielt er intuitiv für identisch mit dem Staat. Die Idee, ein Politiker könne eine konstruktive Rolle für den Bürger haben, war erklärungsbedürftig.

Ich halte es für zwingend hier auf die Mitgliederverwaltungssoftware #Sherpa einzugehen, weil diese mehr kann, als man meinen könnte, diese Funktionen aber kaum oder gar nicht genutzt werden, was mit der Unzugänglichkeit der Software, ihrer dürftigen UX und mangelnder Schulung zu tun hat. Mit Sherpa kann man nicht nur Mitgliedschaften und Mitgliedsbeiträge verwalten, es beinhaltet auch Funktionen, wie man sie von Constituent Relationship Management Systemen wie bspw. #CiviCRM (#FOSS) kennt. 50/x

Today I launched my first #backdrop #backdropCMS site, as #CiviCRM migration strategy away from Drupal 7 for a site that used a lot of drupalisms.

#CiviCRM 6 is out today!

Should be a seamless upgrade from 5.x but formalises 2 biggish developments:

–*CiviCRM Standalone* (#CiviStandalone) adds user mgmt so you don't need to run it in Backdrop/Drupal/Joomla/WP. Instead #Civi6 can bridge with any CMS, ntm #Fediverse, intranet etc.

–*RiverLea* is the new theme framework I've been working on this last year, enabled on all new installs. It has 4 new more accessible sub-themes –one by @artfulrobot– each with dark mode.
