@Alrescha I’ve learned that what I’m looking for is called a #clipboardmanager, and there are several I need to check out: #maccy #Pastepal #pastenow #copyem There are probably many more.

A month, maybe, after beginning a deep dive into medieval Spanish #genealogy (some of it in French, w/a soupçon of Arabic transliteration), with all its (their) attendant diacritics, I found a #Windows clipboard manager (having tried many) that I'm happy with.

I'm back to their 15th century English descendants.

Wish I had found it a month sooner.

It's called CopyCat. It has a lot more features than the last #clipboardmanager I was happy with, ClipMate, which hasn't been updated since 2013?!

Pano Clipboard Manager Now Works in Ubuntu 23.10

In the world of Linux clipboard managers few can match the panache of Pano, a GNOME Shell extension I first wrote about last year. Pano offers an interactive, visually-rich dashboard from which to store, search, and organise your clipboard history. It’s similar to the popular macOS app Paste but arguably better since it’s free, open-source software and works on Linux. Well, I’m pleased to report that this flashy productivity aid (which can be navigated entirely from the keyboard, if you want) now supports GNOME 45 and Ubuntu 23.10. Better yet, the add-on now lets you choose where on screen it :sys_more_orange:

At the level I use the operating systems, #LinuxMint and #LMDE are functionally identical. Things no doubt differ at a deep level, but the deepest thing I do is paste the update command for #Calibre into the terminal.

Programs in the Software Managers have different versions, however. I use #CopyQ #ClipboardManager and #KDEKate #TextEditor. Linux Mint has CopyQ 6.0.1 and Kate 21.12.3, while LMDE has 6.4.0 and 22.12.3. Both have little annoyances in LMDE.

So, I've just bought PasteBot from @tapbots and I really love it! There's one feature I would love to have, (which probably goes beyond the scope of a clipboard manager) and that's the ability to edit the text entries stored within the Pasteboard library.

Does anyone have any suggestions of an app that I can get that does this?

(I did consider using my Streamdeck, but it has a maximum text entry size of 500 characters)

Can anyone recommend a good clipboard manager for iOS?
My needs aren’t too robust here. Just a small buffer that’s easy enough to get too is all I really need. I prefer paid to free, and would cots small annual subscription.
Trust and privacy are paramount because there will be some sensitive things that I copy and paste.
I find pasteboard managers on Mac more essential and extra features are nice, but here just a buffer.

@nyquildotorg hmm, that certainly sounds like a bug rather than a feature...
I knew a clipboard change was coming though because my favourite Android clipboard manager, Clipper+ Sync, announced it was shutting down because of it. Never fully realised the extent of it.

#GBoard's #clipboardManager is decent, but I wish the auto-expire of items could be turned off. I also wish it had #ClipperPlus's ability to sort pinned items into custom categories, and search its lists, and sync between devices.
