Ubuntu philosophy from Southern Africa offers another crucial insight: "I am because we are." Our knowledge and identity emerge through our connections with others. In an AI context, this suggests we should think less about humans versus machines and more about the quality of the relationships we're building.
Post-humanist thinkers push us even further, asking us to consider the "more than human" actors in our knowledge systems. When an Al draws on vast datasets to answer our questions, it's channeling not just algorithms but the accumulated insights of millions of human contributions, filtered through silicon and code. The resulting knowledge belongs to an assemblage that includes humans, machines, data and the infrastructures that connect them.

Une affiche de Collective, une organisation étudiante d’extrême gauche (Inde), pour dénoncer le regain d’islamophobie dans le contexte des tentions avec le Pakistan suite à l’attentat terroriste islamiste de Pahalgam. Elle est illustrée par la reprise d’une affiche de nationalistes hindous qui proclame : « Dogs &, Muslims not allowed » (Chiens & musulmans non autorisés).

Je suis en général assez circonspect sur le fait de reproduire les visuels de la propagande d’extrême droite (par exemple en les partageant sur les réseaux sociaux). Ce qui me trouble c’est l’ambiguïté qui s’instaure entre l’intention (dénoncer) et le fait de participer, d’une façon où d’une autre, à la diffusion de leur rhétorique et de leur imaginaire.

Dans ce cas précis je trouve qu’il y a quelque chose de réussi dans la construction visuelle et dans le rapport texte-image.

La surimpression rouge sur la photo de l’affiche raciste collée sur un mur pose une dimension dramatique. Evocation du sang des victimes, des agressions islamophobes, qui lève l’ambiguïté sur l’intention.

Le message de l’affiche, en lettres blanches sur un bandeau noir dans le bas de l’image, est lisible et visible, dans sa double dénonciation de l’attentat et des agressions islamophobes contre des étudiant⋅e⋅s (point 1) et dans sa dénonciation de la haine et du communautarisme (point deux).
