If you sometimes grep api output or do similar stuff with the output of "long running" commands: bkt is really great: put a `bkt --ttl=1d --` in front of the command and the output will be cached and any next invocation will be blazingly fast.
Example: a grep through a port forwarded metrics endpoint which before took 2 secs to curl it, is now basically instant...:
bkt --ttl=1d -- curl -s localhost:9138/metrics | grep bucket_quota
