Today in our Magic Commander Round we had a new player (3-4 games played). I gave them my Giada Angel Stompy Deck as that seems easy enough and played with them to help explain cards, interactions and sequencing. Other players chose decks accordingly. One player dropped a Rhystic Study Turn 3 and suddenly we moved from „How to best sequence your turn“ to „Mana-Taxing: What is it and why do we hate it?“
The player was very sorry and at some point put the Rhystic Study simply in their graveyard. But it was quite the experience.

Thinking about Dr.Eggman and the optics around it.
On one hand, I understand Discard/Discard Adjacent Commanders are probably never going to be very popular (and being stuck in a SL/Universes Beyond Product probably doesn't help this.)
But at the same time, we also have probably the singlemost fun & interesting Artifact Commander design that isn't just a value engine and it sucks it's just been reduced to a Discard focused deck

Every time I build a new #MTG #EDH deck and am looking through all the mana dorks, I just *cannot* get over the fact that Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary is banned, but Gaea's Cradle is not.
Rofellos is a creature (easier for opponents to get rid of) that costs 2 green mana and can be countered. He taps for green equal to the number of Forests you control. You can only play a max of 1 Forest per turn, unless you have cards that say otherwise.
Cradle is a land (harder for opponents to get rid of) that has no casting cost and can't be countered. It taps for green equal to the number of creatures you control. It's very easy to cast and/or create a lot of creatures every turn.
*Clearly* Gaea's Cradle is the more broken card, and yet Rofellos is banned and Cradle isn't? The rules committee needs to have their heads examined.
(I don't think Cradle should be banned. I think there are a lot of cards that need to come off the ban list.)

Onte tivemos partida, jogamos três bazas. Dúas con Elrond, que quedou algo curto de terras (mas também os oponhentes enfiarom mui bem). Uma con Kaalia, que aginha dominou, mesmo se ganhou a piques dos minotauros lhe roubarem a vitória no derradeiro segundo.
Trás desfazer Zedruu, estes dias estou montando o de energia; vai precisar muito refinamento, pero a ver se sai divertido.
