Across Africa cycling is considered to be stigmatized (in varying degrees) among social climbers and people who want to be seen as doing well in their lives and careers. This study challenges the tenacity of that stigma. African diaspora in the Netherlands got over that stigma really quickly – if they'd ever internalized it in the first place.
