I am very concerned that the lack of action by this Congress is paving the way for this Republican Administration to continue to ignore the Constitution.

Republican members of Congress are not negotiating on the budget.
Republican members of Congress are not conducting oversight of DHS or ICE.
Republican members of Congress are not conducting oversight of US military strikes.
Republican members of Congress are not conducting oversight of the Department of Justice.
Republican members of Congress are not calling for a halt to the destruction of the White House.
Republican members of Congress are supporting gerrymandering, ignoring the rights of voters.

When I hear Steven Bannon say that this Republican Administration is preparing for a third term in office for President Trump, I believe him. On January 5, 2021, Bannon accurately stated that the attack on the Capitol would happen. Over the summer, Bannon said that Trump’s Department of Justice would begin investigating his political opponents. So when Bannon says in an interview with the Economist that there is a plan to keep Trump in office beyond the end of his term in 2028, I believe him.

Is this it? Is this the end of our representative democracy? How do we get ourselves out of this?

Dear Senator / Representative -

I am concerned about lethal U.S. military airstrikes on suspected drug smugglers and I want you to join the effort by Rep. Adam Smith (D) and Rep. Michael Baumgartner (R) to get greater Congressional oversight of the attacks.

This Republican Administration has failed to answer questions regarding the President’s orders to carry out lethal U.S. military strikes on boats suspected of drug smuggling. They have failed to demonstrate the legality of these strikes, provide transparency on the process used, or provide a list of cartels that have been designated as terrorist organizations. A respected senior U.S. Naval Officer has resigned over these strikes, and yet we hear nothing more on the subject from the leadership of this Republican Administration nor from most Republicans in Congress.

I am tired of this Republican Congress abdicating its responsibilities. Please get loud in both the news media and on social media. Hold press conferences in Republican-leaning parts of the state. Congress is a co-equal branch of government and I want Congress to exercise its Constitutional duties.
