El corset de 1862 es el más rígido de todos. Diseñado para crear la famosa silueta de reloj de arena ⏳, moldeaba el cuerpo con fuerza y precisión. Odette O’Hearn lo lucía con porte regio, pero seguro que no era lo más cómodo del mundo.

👉 Este tipo de corset es lo que muchos imaginamos cuando pensamos en la moda victoriana: dramático, elegante y MUY ajustado.

💁‍♀️ 1900: el corset en forma de «S» de Eleanor Kessel

🌊 Silueta curva pero con un twist moderno (para su época)

A finales del siglo XIX, el estilo empezó a cambiar. El corset que llevaba Eleanor Kessel proyectaba el busto hacia adelante y las caderas hacia atrás, formando una silueta en “S”. ¿Más cómodo? Un poquito. ¿Igual de restrictivo? Bastante 😬

Este modelo daba una postura más erguida y elegante, pero sin renunciar a esa obsesión por la forma perfecta.

✨ 1926: el corset ligero y moderno de Andolga Dean

🙌 Adiós a las curvas exageradas, hola figura recta

Ya en los años 20, todo cambió. El corset se volvió más suave y menos estructurado, como el que usaba Andolga Dean. El objetivo ya no era marcar curvas, sino disminuirlas. La figura ideal ahora era más recta, estilizada y juvenil.

Este corset fue clave en la liberación del cuerpo femenino dentro del mundo de la moda 🎉

Stays were not #corsets. Neither of them were torture devices.

They were an effective support garment and were used (with "bodies" before them) for over three hundred years. All day, every day, by all classes.

Tight-lacing (only possible with metal eyelets) was extremely rare.

There is no evidence corsets had bad health effects.

Photographs showing extremely thin waists from the late 1800s were "photoshopped" (it's easy to see using modern tools).
