Criccieth boasts two beautiful beaches divided by the castle. The west beach has a more rugged charm, while the east beach is more sheltered and ideal for families.

Criccieth is steeped in Welsh culture and history. It is associated with David Lloyd George, the former British Prime Minister, who spent much of his childhood nearby in Llanystumdwy.

A printed vintage postcard showing the Ystum Cegid Isaf Dolmen or Coetan Arthur, a prehistoric chambered tomb near Garndolbenmaen by Criccieth in Sir Gaernarfon or Caernarvonshire. The dolmen sits within an old drystone wall which incorporates the monument. The capstone stands on top of four upright stones and is about 15 ft or 4½ m long.
