As a reminder, the dialogue had been going since 2014 when #Russia illegally annexed #Crimea and started a war in #Donbas, for which it got lukewarm sanctions and then awarded with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
To which Russia had responded by amassing troops on Ukraine’s border, issuing an ultimatum to NATO to withdraw from Poland etc and then shut down gas supplies to Europe.
That’s pretty much how the “dialogue” looked like in 2014-2021 and it makes no sense whatsoever if you assume any peaceful intentions of Russia. But it becomes all consistent and logical if you assume Russia wanted to invade Ukraine no matter what, and everything else was just smoke and mirrors.
Boris Johnson is allegedly to have derailed the Istanbul dialogue
This is another blatant Russian lie, because the dialogue continued long after Johnson visit in Kyiv and it was ultimately rejected by Lavrov.
