This activity recaps students previous learning, this recaps, and solidifies learning to prepare students for their lesson.
Next week students will be creating critical studies on the artist Mark Powell. They will be developing their use of Tier 3 vocabulary to discuss, describe and investigate Art.

It is not only the material physical forces that colonize; oftentimes it is the extractive hegemonic narratives of technocracy, patriarchy, xenophobia, anthropocentrism and homophobia that colonize people, professions, institutions and geographies.

Material decolonization without narrative decolonization is incomplete, and reproduces the intergenerational injustices.

Decolonizing knowledge upstream calls for narrative decolonization.

The Sustainability Myth Environmental Gentrification and the Politics of Justice, NYC University Press, 2020.

Plusieurs extraits traduits des livres de Saidiya Hartman, Scenes of Subjection: Terror, Slavery, and Self-Making in Nineteenth-Century America (W. W. Norton & Company, 1997) et Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments. Intimate Histories of Riotous Black Girls, Troublesome Women, and Queer Radicals, Norton, 2019, sur l'esclavage aux États-Unis et son héritage après l'abolition.

etc etc..

(et je me rends compte que j'ai des brouillons à compléter sur les études de Lauren Berlant (The cruel optimism et On the Inconvenience of Other People), Deborah Cowen (The Deadly Life of Logistics Mapping Violence in Global Trade), Miranda Joseph (Debt to society : accounting for life under capitalism, Minnesota University Press, 2014), Priya Satia (Time's Monster: History, Conscience and Britain's Empire), Anne Allison (Precarious Japan et Being Dead otherwise) et quelques autres..)

While examining ethical dimensions of emerging technologies such as #AI, It is necessary to first check the ontological and epistemological choices made, congruences and incompatibilities of these choices and the power relations that shape them.

Do I have academic followers yet? Anyone here in Pittsburgh for ? Ill be presenting some of the work I've been doing on teaching through the pandemic and what it means for school reform. Excited to share the voices of teachers in this setting!

A white background with some randomly drawn black lines in the top left corner. In the bottom right corner is black text that says "Failing to reset: a critical examination of COVID-19's impact on the grammar of schooling. Peter J. Woods, MIT. Emma Anderson, MIT. Avneet Hira, Boston College."
