I've been away for a while. This winter I've been taking drone photos at a much reduced rate and haven't posted any for a while.

Need to get some momentum going before spring, the second best time of the year for drone photography.

In the foreground red powerboat is make a turn around a large orange buoy. In the background, you can see other boats, at least two of which are part of the race and creating a large wake.

Same bridge as in photo from yesterday, but different angle. I love this bridge.

Had some great photos of this bridge in winter, but lost them in an unfortunate drone accident.

It was a great evening for taking Drone photos. Nice lighting and an interesting mix of snow, ice, and open water.

These are conditions that only come along once or twice a year, if that.

Tomorrow, we loose the sun and the by the time it get's back, the snow may be gone.

In the foreground we have a red barn and small corral. Fields are covered in snow. In background, we have a large lake with many islands and penninsulas. The water is mostly calm and open, but hints of ice along the edges are visible.

A gravel pit in Crosby. Another example of the interesting things you find looking straight down.

I love taking photos of sand and gravel pits. They are ever changing.

Looking straight down at a small gravel pit. One can see mounds of sand and the tracks of vehicles through the pit.

This isn't a great photo in general, but I'm fairly happy with what I got given the weather and lighting conditions at the time.

A week ago, it was in the 50's F and the snow was completely gone. We thought that spring was here.

How foolish.

I didn't expect you to try. The fact that you did try, is impressive.

The Cuyuna hashtag is generous. I consider #Cuyuna to be a region (although there is also a town by that name) and this photo is really a bit outside of the region. So, it's not a deliberate red herring, but it's also not that useful.

This photo is within about a 15 mile radius of the city of Cuyuna.

Do you really think that this photo is possible?

Looking straight down on a road between a frozen lake and a brown dry swamp. Small trees line the road on either side casting shadows across it.

I love the dreamly quality of this photo, especially the background. It almost looks like a painting to me. I attribute it to the lighting at that specific moment.

Only sad that the sky is so washed out.
