В этом НГ будет действовать официально две основные меры обеспечения безопасности общественных собраний и народных гуляний в Петербурге. Согласно заявлениям нач.отдела по антитеррористической защищённости публичных и массовых мероприятий Александр Равин.

1) Сама по себе мобильная связь работать должна, но возможны ограничения мобильного интернета. Обычные телефонные звонки должны будут работать, если не возникнет локальной перегруженности сетей в отдельных местах из-за массовых скоплений абонентов.

2) Фейерверков от властей города не будет, а запускать пиротехнику разрешено только на специальных площадках, расположенных в 37 местах (есть список на сайте ГУ МЧС).

Иначе говоря, мессенджеры работать не будут никакие, даже «ловящие на парковке». Во многие моменты дозвониться вряд ли получится до кого-либо, если вокруг много людей. Конечно SMS будут ходить, но вероятно с изрядной задержкой из-за высокой загруженности центров сообщений в мобильных сетях. Которые наверняка лягут под серьёзной нагрузкой из-за неработающих мессенджеров.

Желающим гулять в новогоднюю ночь и не потерять друг друга, самое время освоить или освежить навыки пользования карманными-портативными рациями — 433 и 446 МГц — это #LPD и #PMR. В дополнение к тому, чтобы договариваться где именно, в какой точке встречаетесь, если вдруг разбежались и потерялись.

Зачем рации? Чтобы держать связь в толпе при гуляниях по городу. Или когда кто-то из ваших покинул застолье, пойдя во дворы и улицы запускать фейерверки. Очень может быть что связь через мобильники будет невозможна. Либо сети нагружены, либо загребут за нарушение — использование пиротехники вне пределов специально отведённых мест.

Вместо аналоговых субтонов #CTCSS на рациях лучше использовать #DCS (не во всех они есть). В любом случае, даже CTCSS кардинально снижает уровень ложных срабатываний рации из-за помех. И наушник-гарнитуру в уши, чтобы в шумных местах не пропускать вызовы.

Oof. And a pretty shocking DCS session.

Shortly after takeoff, I was hit. Turned back for base with a really bad fuel leak. Managed a dead stick landing by the skin of my teeth (the first time I've done one of those, so that's something!).

So I took off again with HARMs to deal with the SAMs I figured had shot me, though I didn't get a launch warning. Expended all of them in the direction of a persistent SA-2, got some messages in the kill feed, and then asploded due to a MiG-21 I never knew was there.

So I loaded up for CAP, found the button for GCI to print me messages of contacts' distance and bearing, and went out hunting. At first nothing. Still with no datalink (god knows why).

Naturally, a zillion MiG-29s show up (okay, maybe 4, but that's a lot). I try to pick out targets. A lot of worrying that I'm going to launch on friendlies.

Eventually, I engaged what turned out to be a MiG-29 at way too close range. I think it was 15nm when I really committed, which is well within minimum abort range. I killed him, and shortly afterwards I asploded.

Tacview says
1: the first time I was hit was because right in front of the friendly airbase was an unfriendly base, and while I was climbing to altitude some guy simply hit me with a shoulder-fired rocket launcher.

2: there were at least two MiG-21s threading through our airspace, which I was totally oblivious to without AWACS providing datalink, and without me having asked for the GCI calls. One of them was quite near me the entire time I was occupied with the SAMs.

3: the MiG-29 launched on me about the same time as I launched on him. I cranked and then turned out at pitbull. Instead of doing that, I should either have fled or just maddog'd a missile at him and then fled.

Really not easy without nice datalink contacts of where all the enemies are!...

Good session!

Took off with a load of mavericks, to do BAI on a convoy. Found them, got two hits, and then got fired on by an SA-11, so I dumped everything and ran.

Turned back in, had trouble finding them, eventually got a tally, and went in with guns, since that was all I had left. Somehow managed to get the last two trucks without CFIT. Very exciting.

Got a few air-to-air kills after that, as well. it's nice when you're engaging something that doesn't have a RWR, or has it switched off... a lot of blue air with zero situational awareness, though. And shot some HARMs at an SA-2 that was locking me from across the map, honestly because I was getting sick of the RWR beeping at me. Tacview says I did hit the radar, but somehow it kept me locked all the way back to base. I severally turned my RWR off.

Last night had a first, I’ve been doing a challenge where I try to start up every DCS module I get without the manual or guides. This time it was the C-130 Hercules which is a very complex boy! It was also the first time I did this together with my co-pilot Nene, who also had no idea what we were getting into.

Going for a minimal spoilers approach with zero knowledge to start off with - we got the engines running in about two and half hours, and the aircraft correctly configured and in the air in about four hours! Making for a rather chill and fun aviation hangout with the chat. Thanks everyone for being there 💕

Last community co-op DCS event I got to introduce a few new people learning to fly, as well as we did some coordinated dismantling of air defenses with the more experienced pilots to provide them with an easier target to learn on.

There was some fun air to air combat opportunities as well as some good air to ground time to be had, so here’s a few shots from the event!

Been also learning how to fly the newly released MiG-29A and discovering some new challenges with how to employ it on DCS as it was never intended as a air superiority fighter, but more to coordinate with ground support. The sensors on the plane are pretty dreadful and the HUD modes hide critical information when you need it the most, it’s certainly an interesting challenge :) Will be interesting to see if the recent fixes to the radar and IRST helped.
