Today we made stepping stones for the garden with the girls! We poured concrete into old trays where we had placed leaves from the garden. The result: a beautiful leaf imprint in each stone – a bit of nature preserved beneath our feet. A fun and creative little project to do together!

Vandaag maakten we samen met de dochters stapstenen voor in de tuin! We goten beton in oude bakken waarin we bladeren uit de tuin hadden gelegd. Zo ontstond er een prachtig bladmotief in elke steen – een stukje natuur vereeuwigd onder onze voeten. Een fijn en creatief projectje om samen te doen!

Just planted a Ribes nigrum 'Ben Nevis' at the fork in my garden path! Excited for future blackcurrants right in the heart of the garden. The path is still a work in progress, but this spot felt perfect for a fruiting shrub. Can’t wait to see it grow!

Thinking about the predicted hot and dry Summer coming up and how to keep my veggie garden going.

I read this article about making DIY ollas today, pleased to learn you can make one with just a terra cotta pot, a pot saucer, cork, and blu tack.

Still a little dubious of the saucer will be enough to keep mosquitoes from breeding in it or slugs from congregating around it.
