The #DMA says in Article 5(2) that gatekeepers are prohibited to "combine personal data from the relevant core platform service [=Facebook, Insta] with personal data from any other services [Meta Ads] provided by the gatekeeper or with personal data from third-party services [ad partners]" without consent as defined by #GDPR.

Now GDPR consent needs to be free, informed, and specific to the data processing.

So, as long a users have not specifically and knowingly consented to it...

@glynmoody Hm just saw that press release but I'm not quite sure what this even means.

How much is "less personal data" and does that include data I have not consented to? I means #consent needs to be specific and informed; so as long as there is personal data processing for the purpose of ads, this isn't a valid solution is it?

I hope that the European Commission will remain firm in enforcing laws on American big tech companies as this is in the best interests of everyone and won't bow to Trump Administration demands.
