Then: hopped over for the late set at Close Up, my first time at the sorta newish jazz club in the Lower East Side. Very cool spot, intimate and vibey and friendly, old school 50's/60's thing. Dan Weiss absolutely incredible leading from behind the drum kit, great trio with Jacob Sacks on piano and Chris Tordini on bass. Whole thing made me happy. More, more, more of this. I'll be back for sure.
