I'm playing #DarkestDungeon on Linux and I'm running into an annoying bug: In the Endless Harvest, the dialogues where I am supposed to get shards (e.g. from the miller's wife) close immediately without giving me a chance to take the shards. All other dialogues in the game work fine.

I have already written to the support (and will post an update if they have a solution), but perhaps someone here has already had the problem.

Darkest Dungeon is hands down one of my all-time favorite games: the art style, the gameplay mechanics, the challenge, the music and sound design, the dungeon crawling, and the base management — it all hits me like a thousand silver daggers. The sequel's been out for quite a while now, but I hadn’t dared to dive in before, since it’s such a major mechanical shift compared to the first game and I’d heard some mixed things about it.

Well, I finally took the plunge, and so far, I haven’t been disappointed, which has been a nice surprise. Though, to be fair, riding around in a stagecoach doesn’t quite beat building up my own little hamlet. Still, there’s plenty of stuff I loved in the first game that’s here too: turn-based combat, the amazing visual style, Stuart Chatwood’s fantastic soundtrack, and that deliciously grim atmosphere.

Let’s see how my thoughts shape up once I’ve played a bit more…

Twelve pears ago, Tyler and I reached out to Wayne, humbly asking him to narrate our indie game’s trailer. Since those magical moments when we first paired his reading with the footage, it has been an incredible and fulfilling collaboration. Wayne's singular baritone and masterful cadence elevated everything he read.

He was a consummate professional, and his love of his craft was an inspiration. His inimitable work is woven into the very fabric of our industry in a way that cannot be forgotten.

It is one of my life’s greatest honors to have written for him in this past decade. Though I never got to shake his hand, I knew him to be a friend.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I learned today of the passing of Wayne June, iconic narrator of the Darkest Dungeon series. =(

His work has been an integral part of both halves of my professional life the past 10 years; that of a streamer with DD1 and that of a developer with DD2.
