The #Demosplash #cake has arrived!
Demosplash is celebrating its thirteenth year!
#demosplash2023 will be held 3-4 November 2023.
#demosplash is one of the largest and longest-running #demoparties in North America, catering both to newcomers to the #demoscene as well as established artists. We show #demos live on original hardware as much as humanly possible, offering a viewing experience that can't be matched by emulators or recordings. In addition to screenings, we feature a variety of events, including tech talks, workshops, and celebrations of #retrogaming.
Demosplash is proud to announce our headline musical performer for 2023: DRAC-0, aka Dracorean, is an incredible #chiptune DJ best known for spinning high-energy shows in VR raves. Her style mixes classic oldschool chiptunes, remixes, chiptune-style EDM, and retro visuals for intense unforgettable experiences. We're honored to welcome her to the Demosplash stage for one of her first - and not to be missed - live in-person performances!
We will of course have a whole roomful of retro gaming computers (Sharp X68000, Apple ][, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, NES, and much much more) for anyone who wants to take a break from the demos or talks and play some video games!
In the unfortunate event you can't make it, our friends at SceneSat will be streaming the whole event live.
Part of the #demoscene involves giving new life to old hardware, not unlike #upcycling an old #Demosplash T-shirt into a reversible tank top. Prior year shirts are available for sale at the event at a discount!
#Demosplash is a #demoparty in #Pittsburgh celebrating retro and modern computer graphics and sound. #Demosplash2023 will be Friday 03 - Saturday 04 November 2023. Visit demosplash.org to learn more about online and in-person attendance, #compos, and more.

Yes, that's an NTSC demo. I know! Demos can be NTSC!
(Modern folks who don't know what that means: At one time, the display of a computer determined a LOT how things appeared or sounded. You had 2 major speeds: PAL and NTSC. Europe had PAL, and that's where most of the really awesome stuff was being developed. The US/Canada (and Japan) had NTSC. South America had "Guess?" (Mostly PAL, but not exactly European PAL, and some NTSC, cuz...) and France had SECAM (and most folks in France jumped to PAL instantly because 'dude where are my colors?')
Demosplash about to start.
